Hi all. Been working on a dynamics plugin Synthmaker. Anyone want to try it out for me?

;)

Features:

- All 4 dynamics modes available: upwards and downwards compression plus upwards or downwards expansion
- Ratio can go beyond infinity:1 (ie: above 100%)
- Range control to limit the amount of gain modulation
- Fully variable knees both for the main Threshold and the secondary Range threshold
- Stereo linking variable from 0% to 200% *
- Envelope smoothing by rate of gain change (therefore time constants are calibrated in dB/s or dB/ms)
- Hold parameter, to hold maximum or minimum modulation levels for specified time (calibrated in ms)
- Peak sensing, or RMS sensing, or a mixture of both
- Variable RMS window size (from 1ms to 100ms)
- Sidechain high-pass filter (can be switched into audio signal path if required)
- External sidechain inputs
- Dry and Wet mix controls for parallel compression
- Soft clipping option to gently clip peaks to 0dBFS
- 2x oversampling option for gain stage and soft clipping if enabled. Introduces 4 samples of latency (reported to host).
- Feed-back option for a more 'vintage' style compression

* 0% = no linking, 100% = conventional stereo linking, 200% = left/mid channel dynamics modulates right/side channel's gain and vice versa.

(I hope I'm not breaking forum advertising rules by doing this btw? I have no intentions to sell the plug; just wanting to get some feedback.)

I have a session open atm. I'll faff around.

OK I'll say this much:
Loading it within multiFXVst hosted within Kristal (Kristal is bad, multiFX is beta) it locks up as soon as the GUI is activated. It does this sometimes though.
(Windows 7, 64 bit, Kristal is running in 32 bit)

My fault for not hitting Ctrl+S I guess.

Is it possible with this plug, to mix the high-passed Sidechain with the main audio, or can you only swap them in/out?

PS: Kristal can't handle it. But 50% of plugins with custom interfaces don't work either.

Thanks guys.

No, just in or out. I kept the sidechain filtering pretty simple as you can use the external sidechain inputs if you need more options...

And, it is actually a very good DAW. Especially v.3 it's all I use. It's a different workflow, but it is intuitive. Plus, I used it without paying for 5 or 6 months, paid my money, and didn't even have to feel bad (like with my cr4ckkddd SONAR 7)

:D

Works in Samplitude. Sounds decent on vocals. I've only tried it on speech so far but you can crush it pretty hard without sounding too unnatural. Very usable and way more control than the other freeware I've tried (kjaerhaus et al). Too bad there isn't an RTAS version. I guess I'll have to splurge on FXpansion's wrapper. It's a keeper. Nice work man.

I would make you an RTAS version if I could, but I'm afraid Synthmaker doesn't let me!

Ah yes. Neither would Digidesign. Far be it for them to open up the possibilities. Oh no. We must keep all compatibility and incompatibility within our control. No-one shall undermine the Digimaster. Money grubbin...
