What's some of your opinions about the quality of some pluginsthat come packaged with your host software. The reason I asked is because I have tried a few of these and was surprised when I'd A/B them for use on a audio track. The quality of the pluginsthat came with the program was less appealing than the ones that I paid for. Has this been the case with some other programs? Or am I immagining something that's not there.

I prefer most of the stock plugs to the Waves plugs. And for the added bonus of lower resource usage they work great for me. I'm of the opinion that you can make anything sound good if you have tallent. Tallent and creativity are more important than the tools you have to work with. Just ask Les Paul...
There still isn't a digital eq available that compares with it's hardware counterpart in my opinion. And it makes me sad...

Usually always the case, or there wouldn't really BE a need for third party people to make them plugins, no? ;)
I've found the Ultrafunk Sonitus suite (and I'm sure Ethan will agree with me) bundled with Cakewalk SONAR 3 to be rock-solid at what they do.
