Hi,

When I recorded a speech from computer A and played it on computer B the sound was totally distorted. The pitch of a female voice was much lower on computer B and the speed was lower too. But the same wav file is totally normal on Computer A. What could have gone wrong? Thanks!

Best,
Isaac

Not the topic for Mastering Sound, but anyway,

Distortion: volume levels on both computers could be drastically different for many reasons. Check the sound properties of Win/Mac OS and the cards. In the wave editor look at your wav file. Do you see any clipping? If it's there, record again with less input volume (preamp), look at the VU/peak meters in DAW during recording (close to 0 db but never over).

Pitch and speed: recording and playing sample rates are different. Check the properties of the wav file and set the same SR on audio card (and DAW) in computer B. For audio CD as a final destination, file must be 16 bit / 44.1 kHz.
