Hi
new to this forum, and just wanted to introduce myself, and maybe some of you can point me in the right direction.
I am pretty much a beginner in recording, mixing, mastering area.

my current setup is a roland vm 7100 digital mixer, and a Focusrite penta.

I"m trying to overdive the penta to get that saturated, extra harmonics feel to some of my tracks. I'm not really getting the results that I want.

would a higher end channel strip give me the results I'm looking for?

I can actually support that idea. While you're at it, plug a guitar into the instrument in of the ART pre and crank the gain until it starts to break up. I like the way it sounds myself.
