I am doing a double-album like Jeff Wayne did with 'War of the Worlds'. (1977). Mine is 'The Time Machine' (H.G. Wells). It features narration, the Time travelers voice, along with 15 original songs, all interspersed. All telling the story. I did this in the last 5 years in my home studio. It is based around an Akai DPS24, a 24 track, 24 bit recording console. I would like some feedback on the concept, and the sound.

This first one is the opener. The second one is in the middle, when he starts to travel through time.

Thanks, guys. The first one, (the opener) didn't post right. I fixed it.
I had to do some ducking to be able to hear the voices over the songs. Then when they're not talking, the songs have to be loud enough. It is a delicate balance there for sure. 9.5 db difference.
Perhaps I'll make it less until he's done talking, then raise it the full 9.5db.

Yeah, I like this. It all sounds a bit dated, a bit derivative, but still I like it, and I admire Jimmylovespage's courage and vision in executing this work, and I wish him all the best in venture. The spoken voices are good and well recorded.
As to the philosophy, I suggest reading Kant's Critique of Pure Reason for further clarification of the properties of space and time!
Musically it reminds me of 70s synth stuff, like Pink Floyd or Tubular Bells. It's well done, well performed and produced. I would suggest that perhaps Jimmylovespage should try to incorporate some more modern influences into his sound, or even better try to find an original twist or lilt or something that he can inject into his idiom - then this would be really great.
But still, I like this a lot, and I encourage Jimmylovespage to persist and search and realise his magnificent vision,,,,,

Thank you very much, guys. It opens with that traditional timeless synth sound, and the closing song starts with that same sound as well, to tie it together. That last song has kind of a space-punk sound. The songs in the middle range from a mild love song (when they fall in love-girl singing), to a dream song, then a tragic song, then an end-of-the-earth song, (hard rock) etc. I realized early that music is sooo subjective. I expect the project itself won't be accepted by the mainstream. But for people that grew up in the 70's and 80's, this will be a refreshing respite from the norm. (hopefully) I appreciate all the comments and sonic suggestions. And thanks again. Jimmy
