hi
i have a home recording studio consisting of
condensor microphone,
Yamaha mixer.mg16/4
fostex de10 effects unit.
ELV compressor.
tapco graphic equalizer.
Behringer mic2200 mic preamp amp
and an amplifier
is there a specific order in which these should be connected starting at the mic and ending at the amplifier what item should come after the mic preamp amp ie . tapco graphic or something else, backing tracks would come from CD/mini disc or computer into the mixer final mastering in cubase.
thanks
dave

Dave: You could go
1. mic
2. berrieMIC2200
3. yammie mixer
4. use the insert on the channel and put the Fostex DE10 in there for your effects
5. the tapco eq (model??) not real sure maybe on the main channels before your amp??
6. the ELV compressor (model??) probably across your main channels but hard to say.
Sort of a hodge podge of gear there!
Do you have an interface?
Why not do all of that stuff in Cubase....keep it simple!

You don't need any of that gear in your chain, it's best practice to have as short of a recording chain as possible.

Unless you have Superior analog gear the only thing you will add is noise.
