Improve how??? What sound do you want???

Altiverb and TLSpace are convolution reverbs, they sound like natural verbs.

Revibe will give you better "synthesized" reverbs, emulating electronic box reverbs. Great tails!!

TLSpace RTAS goes for $100.00 or less, from private parties, as Digidesign is not releasing any new convolutions, people are blowing them out.
You can buy it, then find a friend with LogicPro, so you can copy their convolutions.

I'm not too sure where you're at as an engineer, but let me ask a possibly stupid question. Are you running the verb directly on the track or through an aux channel?

T-600 is awesome library. IMHO the closest you can get to the hardware version.

I didn't turn on any of the True-Ren type reverb since T600.

I use the Altiverb and the Renaissance Reverb (Waves). Both are very different and used for different effects. I have read that TLSpace is giving PT 7.3 some problems (ie. crashing the system). I'm currently using Altiverb 5 and find it very good for ADR. To me, the controls are not as flexable for some effects, so I use the Renverb for those situations.

I rarely use and aux channel.
I generally insert the verb on the track I want. If Its something like drums, I'll bus the drums down to a stereo track and insert it on that channel. How would you reccomend doing it? Also, why would that make a difference on how the reverb sounds?

I always use a send and return for reverbs

the original track is not effected by proccessing or latency due to the reverb

you can send other channels to the same reverb

you can mute reverb without changing the sound of the original track - because it is not being processed by the plug ... even the bypass could be doing something

the reverb send can be a different MIX to the basic drum mix ... I rarely put kick drum into the reverb ... but I sometimes put more toms in reverb ... and all this can be independantly automated

reverb doesn't have to be hard left and right ... nor does the drum kit ... but they can ... so more choice

create a reverb send ... mono or stereo ... I use mono
create an aux return ... stereo
I usually have this mix into the main drum sub group and so effected by the drum comp/limiter

in addition to that I may have a snare only reverb in mono or stereo

Is that the same thing as creating an aux track in PT and setting its input to a bus, then putting whatever you on that bus (as a bus not an output)

effect sends to the bus ... pre and post

faders to the bus is more like a sub group ... well ... is a sub group

a bus can be routed to an output

to an aux return
