Hey Fletcher . . . am I correct in understanding that you were involved in the tracking sessions for the new King's X album?
If so could you answer two question . . .
1. I saw a video clip showing you positioning a mic in front of a guitar cab as they ran pink noise through it. Could you explain how this process works? it was pretty cool.
2. There's a picture of a mic with a pencil taped to it and it says "the old pencil trick" what is this trick? I'm not familiar with this.
Thanks,
Pete
Pink Noise thing... you put on headphones and move the mic arou
Move the second mic around until the "image" centers in the center of your head... you'll know it when you hear it.
2. The "old pencil trick" [works as well with a new pencil BTW]... is that you tape a pencil across the front of the mic to cut down on "plosives". Michael Wagener seems to like it, I've been pretty ambivalent about it as I usually try to get rid of plosives via mic positioning. Different strokes and all that.
Peace.
