Right, ive been told that by using Reason in conjunction with Cubase i can get a lot more functionality - i dont see this at all. Cubase just does my head in!
Can someone recommend a good place to learn about the program and its functions in depth?

Well ive got the hang of apply instruments, such as PRo 52 and B4 to a midi track, i can output these too an audio track and i can generally make music with the program.
but what about all these special things i hear it has? FX and alike. I really just need to know wot the program can do. lol. i know, i sucks. =)

Well..when you mean cool stuff that it can do are you referring to real time effects and so forth? That's usually the one that stumps people about Cubase for some reason! On the Channel mixer there's a couple of things that need to be done...
The input button on the channel(the one that says IN1L or so forth..)needs to be highlited to hear effects in real time..also the IN button in the channel needs to be on to see the incoming signal in teh mixer. Before all of this is done two settings need to be checked..under the Audio System setup for Cubase make sure you are in Tape Type mode for Monitoring..that and Direct Monitoring is not turned off..now a check mark means it's disabled so watch out!!
Once that is done just input a signal and make sure you hear it..next hit the EQ button on the desired channel...there you have your EQ, Inserts and Aux Sends...I think from there it should be self explanatory...Oh..and make sure the track is record enabled!!!

What part of Cubase stumps you? I dont know of any online tutorials or places that offer that type of help..I'm thinking of doing tutorials on my website but that will take awhile to get it going as I havent even gotten to that part of my webpage yet..soon tho
Ask some questions on some specifics about the program and we can try the best we can to help out..I know Cubase very well so ask away..
