I know I have been gone for a while, just got back the other day(had to put in some overtime to work up that $24).
Anyway, I have been to the Sonar and Cubase forums, and noone has answered my posts in four days. Maybe I am spoiled by Opus in the computing forum, but that seems a bit long to me.
So here is my question.
Sonar supposedly doesn't support ASIO, however my soundcard is ASIO, and appears to work fine, why is that?

For that to be possible, I would have to have an alternate drive
For that to be possible, I would have to have an alternate driver for that sound card(lexicon core studio2), right? or is there a default driver that gets loaded with Sonar?
Yep, MME. Your sound card may be using MME(microsoft multimedia ) drivers that SONAR will work with.
And yes the SONAR forum has been a dead forum. Follow the web links in the SONAR help menu to get to some support forums and info.
Yes, the Core2 uses MME drivers as Sonar doesn't support ASIO...
Yes, the Core2 uses MME drivers as Sonar doesn't support ASIO...dumb asses I say.
I truly am surprised that Cakewalk is still around.
Most drivers that are made today have WDM and ASIO embedded protocols so that any program will be able to use them.
MME is just the standard windows directX driver..DirectX goes right to the application bypassing most of the crap in the OS but still has issues with proper playback.
Thanks for the compliment about me spoiling you! lol

My guess would be that your soundcard supports ASIO *and* someth
My guess would be that your soundcard supports ASIO *and* something else at the same time (WDM or DirectX), and Soanr is using one of the alternate communication schemes.
