Well, there's your first mistake! I am not one to reccomend that at all..I dont like moving boot sectors around..it always goes corrupt at some point and it's one hell of a time fixing it usually

moved some partitions, and had my stystem lock-up.

Double Whammy!

It went into the usualy "Windows Startup Menu" where you select "Normal", "SafeMode", etc.

Hmm..I didnt know that was the normal start up screen?!!

I've since reinstalled Windows 98, and the same Startup screen keeps coming up, although everything boots just fine. It works, but it's slightly annoying.

This makes no sense!

Anyone know which file to modify to get windows to start going to the startup menu?

Do you mean which file it is to STOP windows from going to that menu selection screen?

I just installed Norton Tools, but I haven't taken the time to figure out how to get it to check it out.

Well, finally did read the manual for Norton, ran all the disk doctors, etc, and no fix. Guess I'll just kiss my ANUS goodbye! It still runs great......

What happens if you do a normal install without the Partition Magic? Does it start up fine? If so you know it's something that partition magic does to the Boot.ini file found on the C:drive...
Open that up using Notepad and see if it added an ebtry into it that is screwing it up
