A DAE replacement.

By a third party. .lets all give this a try shall we. Supposedly they coded it because they weren't happy with the sound, transient respoonse and headroom of Digi's DAE.

Hi Kevin,

I've checked out the website but can't find anything about a DAE replacement. I'm not surprised, no one but Digi could write a new DAE unless they had access to restricted information and/or cracked code.

I did notice the DAG 24 bit Optimized Mixer though. Has anyone tried this plugin? For that matter does anyone know anything about the company? I'm a bit apprehensive about adding anything to my setup that I'm not 100% sure about.

Sorry...I meant mixer plugin.

I have a 5.1 TDM Mix plus and I just tried the DAG mixer.

On the same track I simply swapped mixer plugs and I am impressed. I was leary but in the end thought "what the heck." They operate here in town so I can pay them a visit if I have problems.

I will be doing some further tests, but I can hear a difference and i like it. I will try to get in touch with them to find out whats up with this.

Mean while, Checkout http://www.dageek.com for more info on this plug.

Like Greg, I'm wary of new, untested, unverified files when it comes to plugging them into a $50,000+ PT rig that I have to use daily to make a living with. This is the first time I've ever heard of this DAM company. Somebody please test the DAM mixer plug-in and post a DAM review. Who wants to be the DAM guinea pig? DAM it. :D

Okay I have tried it. I have a 5.1 mixplus rig running os 9.04...

Everthing works as it should, no problems. It is a dithered mixer derived from mixer B before the hi-res even existed. Sounds better to me than the stock 24 bit mixer and close enough to identical to the hi res mixer.

BUT it works with DP3 and Logic, which the hi res does not.
