It's a great unit. I use it wherever I want little or no coloration, but still want leveling or limiting. Good Luck.

FWIW,

The RNC could be the single best investment in your studio - it can be used as a limiter while tracking, as a TRANSPARENT compresser, or spanked enough to get a bit rougher (but nowhere near the same as an 1176, distressor etc. :D

Let me just say this about the RNC - beside it, I have 2 other good stereo compressors - one is all tube and cost about 8 times as much, the other is actually a linked pair of discrete class A solid-state mono compressors which cost 25 times as much. Guess which compressor gets used 10 times as much as the other 2?

Just that they're so damn cheap, you could afford a couple, PLUS other gear for the price of one Manley, Neve, etc. - yeah, it's only a tool, but you can fit yourself with a belt full of 'em at their cost!

just what everybody says. I have two of them and will get another two of them by the end of the year. Love them on snare, tracking vocals, acoustic guitars, bass, you name it. The most versatile and good sounding box I heard in ages...go for it!
