I've got a really kick ass band that I'm recording out here in Chicago and one of the members is moving to southern Florida. He's looking for a list of studios, clubs, and anything else he can find so he can piece together another group down there...record, and get shows.
Anyone have suggestions?
I don't know what kind of music he is into or where he's moving

South Florida (east coast) is made up of three counties, Dade (which is Miami), Broward (which is Fort Lauderdale) and Palm Beach.
I usually hang in the Fort Lauderdale area. There's a bunch of studios down here but not so many decent clubs. I think the best club for local music is The Culture Room. They feature all kinds of bands/music and some national acts as well. It can hold a couple to 300 people.
For Studios I recommend Studio 13. There's a lot of studios down here but not a lot of people who are good at what they do in them.
A lot of bands down here travel between here, Tampa and Orlando to play shows.
Check out http://www.ragmagazine.com. It's one of the local music mags and has a bunch of links to studios and other stuff.
