I'm in the midst of designing/putting together two studios. They''' both have 2", euphonix converters,ProTools and Logic, maybe the baby sony oxford and RADAR.
All the computers will be hooked up to a central machine room where the 2", converters, etc will be located. Data will be fibre -net or equivalent.

My Question:

Can/Will RADAR be able to be hooked up to a network so that I can send files around without having to "swap" harddrives?

Hi,

Yes. RADAR 24 will support CIFS in the 3.10 release. This gets you Windows peer-to-peer, NT server connectivity and networking with Mac OS X. Older flavors of Mac OS require software like Virtual PC.

One of our beta users suggests an OS X partition for the file transfers since that is where the Mac is headed anyway.

So does this mean an iZ Radar24 can write a session on a caddy style drive in a format that means the the drive can be pulled and slotted into a Protools rig and worked on? Or do you still have to do a transfer from the radar onto a seperate drive etc etc?

PS. Are you iZ guys going to be at NAMM.

Hi,

With an approved third party SCSI card (i.e. Adaptec) RADAR 24 can export to an HFS or FAT 32 SCSI drive, which can be removed and plugged into a Kingston reciever hanging off a Mac or PC. The files can then be imported directly into a session.
