Under 600 dollars. I've only seen the virtual guitarist as an option for midi guitar. Can anyone recommend others?
I want to sound like Tool/metallica/ac/dc, metal sound
Thanks

Slayer is a vst instument pluggin for cubase. There some great subtle and very intuitive tone and pickup adjustments. Some useful presets to start out. I have gotten lost in this little thing for hours.
fls comes bundled with slayer2. Sounds nothing at all resemblin
fls comes bundled with slayer2. Sounds nothing at all resembling a real instrument. Completely synthetic, and every preset is immediately noticable as being "slayer".
I'm not saying its a bad plugin, it about as far away as you're going to get from what Gorch is asking for.

Personally, I use EastWest/Quantum Leap's Ministry of Rock 2. I use the heavy guitars. It takes a little bit of EQ tweeking to fit it into a particular song depending on what other instruments you're using but for the most part, they sound really good.

Just to let you know, you're replying to a post that's over 11 years old ... which is fine, no harm done, and maybe someone else can take something from your post. Just didn't want you to expect the OP to reply. They might, but if they don't, I wanted you to know why.
Welcome to RO.

The emulation technology from 2006 when this thread was original
The emulation technology from 2006 when this thread was originally written is HUGE!!!. Everything about sampled guitar sounds has been rewritten in ways that are far beyond what was available then.
But this is a pertinent thread that should be addressed.
I have always loved the sounds and the subtle nuances you could get from micing an amp with a good player in the chair. And this will always be my first choice in an important role in the song.........
The question then ....from me to all you git-ists who record and produce....."What effect would a sampled or 'modeled' guitar sound have to your production? In relation to the "arrangement".....Notes the same, in a part...
What difference might this make to you in a production of a piece of music???
If you use a Kemper/Eleven/ guitar module dujour....Which one and why?
I have an Eleven Rack. It's my third one. I've played on a Kemper. I've played on a Stomplab. I've played on a Line 6. The only one that feels like an amp is the Eleven.
You get that?
Makes a HUGE difference in the "feel" of the track. Every time.
So what does the feel of an amp do for your playing?
Ha!
How about a sampler?
