If you dig through this forum you will find an opinion by Sebatron that the "Deep" setting on his pres doesn't sound particularly good when used on a kick drum. I have to disagree with this statement. We recorded a band last night and used a Shure b-52 to the Seb 2000e to a Valley People 2-610 and it sounded great. We had the mic 2" from the beater, catching a lot of attack, and the "Deep" eq gave it a full-sounding body. I didn't find the "Deep" eq to be useful when Micing from farther back in the kick drum, but I recommend giving the close-mic thing a try. David
