Dynaudio BM5: are they enough accurate for mixing? Thanks.

I've had my BM5's for a few years now and have no complaints. The bass response is surprisingly good even though they're small near-fields. They come with these 'plugs' you can shove in the front ports for different bass characteristics - unplugged for full bottom and plugged for tighter bass freq.
After using Yamaha NS-10ms for far too long, it took me a while getting used to them -- the NS-10ms were so brittle that when I switched to the Dynaudio's, I thought they were broke. Turns out they were just more flat, accurate and realistic than the NS-10ms by leaps and bounds, plus less fatiguing. After a couple of hours on NS-10s, my ears would be toast.
I'd go for the BM6-A, which is a small step up, plus they're powered. For some, they sound too flat, I guess, but they're solid and sound great to me. Everyone's got their favorite flavors.....
Fletcher's right -- try before you buy!

For some people they are, for others they aren't. Personally, I hate them...but by the same token most people that hear the monitors I use, hate them.
It's all a matter of taste, try to find a local place that will let you try them for a while (or at least let you return them if you hate them)...try a couple of mixes on them...if your stuff sounds good in the outside world...then they're good monitors for you. If your stuff sounds muffled or thin in the outside world, then they're not right for you.
FWIW, a friend of mine just went through this process...he also did some measurements...he decided to get the Questeds. I thought they sounded pretty good, but I still prefer my old Wright WFM-II's .
Best of luck with your search.
