I thought I'd do a video about why you should think very hard before buying a pedal steel - even if it's cheap.

Beware! This video will give you brain freeze when you try to understand how the things work! If you can play guitar, even fretless guitars or string instruments - to play a pedal steel needs knowledge of chords, and worse chord numbers. If you've ever got grumpy when people talk chord I to chord IV instead of C to F, then you will be even angrier when you realise chord numbers are vital to understanding how pedal steels function. 

They are also the only instrument I have ever discovered where you cannot walk up to one, sit down and play - even if you have one of your own.

The video is hard work - and hardly scratches the surface. If in doubt, do NOT buy one unless you are prepared for huge amounts of effort.
