Unless I'm completely stupid, which is a distinct possibility, I didn't see a forum specifically for this sort of thing, so I'm sticking it here.
I've got a few vintage dynamic microphones that require a special four prong connection at the mic. I've got one such working cable. This cable boils down to an unbalanced quarter inch plug.
Now, I've got another vintage cable with the four prong end intact, but the other end has been cut off. I'm unsure of how to reattach a simple quarter inch because I have no idea what the four prongs are for and how they relate to the quarter inch jack.
I'm quite handy with a soldering iron, and won't have any problem actually connecting the bits together, but if anyone knows a thing or two about these apparently obsolete cables, I'd be happy to learn what you know.
Thanks,
Justin

There is a new Vintage Pro Audio forum where it would fit....
What type of microphones are they?....that might help to know....then you could look up the pinout online.....
The mic element itself should be two of the pins and then a pin for shield...
The 4th pin might be attached to the mic shell like a chassis ground.
Well if you think that the cabling is the same on both these mic
Well if you think that the cabling is the same on both these mics then using a continuity setting on volt/ohm meter track where the tip is wired and the sleeve in the one that is in working order.
