I got a Mackie Control universal to use with Samplitude. So far I have had nothing but problems with it. I bought it to use with my live radio show post production chores but so far it has been more of a problem than I anticipated. It seems to work well with certain parts of Samplitude and not so well with others. The buttons seem to work well MOST OF THE TIME and it seems to be able to do automated faders EXCEPT SOMETIMES and I am not able to figure out why sometimes it works well and other times not. I have been using Samplitude to do most of my acoustical recordings as of late and hoped this additional purchase would prove to be something that it has not. Anyone here on the forum ever tried to use the Mackie with Samplitude and if so what were your reactions to it? I got the Mackie as NOS since it had been returned without being used and the folks at GC could not sell it as NEW. I am not sure whether it is the Mackie or the interface to Samplitude. Any help would be most appreciated.

I also use the Mackie with Samp. There is a fair amount of disc
I also use the Mackie with Samp. There is a fair amount of discussion on the Magix forum - it would be worth stopping by there. One key seems to be rebooting the controller once you are in samp and have a project open.
I have had pretty good success with it for mixing with automation. The only gripe I have is somewhat flaky text display in the LCD screen, and when Samp is set to display milliseconds I get hundredths counting up in the last to digits of the display - the third digit which should be reading tenths just sits on zero.
One more thing that I have not tested myself, but I read somewhere (might no apply to V8) that the mixer needs to display 8 tracks to synch up properly. The channel increment button shifts tracks two at a time rather than one.
A few little glitches - but nothing that keeps me from thoroughly enjoying it.
