I am looking for a good bus compressor plug for my new UAD-2. My #1 purpose will be a drum bus, #2 for rough masters. Anyone have any thoughts on these 2 and which they like better for what? I know its highly subjective (as are most posts), but that's the point! As always, I'd greatly appreciate any input. Thanks guys!

thx for the feedback. I have the fairchild and the la2a. haven
thx for the feedback. I have the fairchild and the la2a. haven't used the la2a as a drum bus yet, i'll have to try that. i like the fairchild a LOT about 50% of the time. sometimes its exactly what the mix needed and sometimes it just doesn't work at all. It can really suck some low end out. Which can make things sound tighter, or too thin depending on the application. I'm gonna demo em both not but i'll probably go for the 33609 i think. If i'm gonna get more gear, i want some color and i don't think the prec bus will give me that.
LA2 is brighter for sure. I usally mix the compressed drums bus
LA2 is brighter for sure. I usally mix the compressed drums bus under the uncompressed drums, so the low end is still present.
I believe the 33609 is a feedback compressor, so it should be less agressive on the intial attack, as it is control path is reacting to the output not the input. I read somewhere that Neve figured that sounded more natural.
I have the UAD 1 and have the Fairchild, I like that on my drums
I have the UAD 1 and have the Fairchild, I like that on my drums bus, as well the LA2 is keeper. The neve compressor is decent, but I would go for the fairchild first. I haven't used the precision comp yet.
