Hey,
I'm starting a recording/live sound business and I do have some clients, all of which were from word of mouth. I know that's the best kind of advertising.
But since I'm just getting started, I think some advertising may be helpful.
I'm located 20 miles east of the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, if that matters for your replies.
My question is: How effective would a banner ad for my type of business be? Particularily recording.org's banner ads. I know it all depends and it's hard to say the return from advertising.
Has anyone here had experience with running banner ads and how much response they got from them?
Thanks.

Hmm, I would say that if you were selling gear, this place would be choice! Since we are mostly all recording enthusiasts, we most likely don't need your service so a banner would not be something I would sell you in good conscience.
However, I will pretty much guarantee that if you submit your service in our news area (only $20 bucks a year as a club member!) your article and title of your article(s) will be picked up by google and made searchable around the world. Google indexes RO daily. If you want more info on that I would be happy to talk to your on the phone.
If you become a Club member, for one year you can submit articles. It's our place for members to talk about their business. I've only had is available here for a few months. It is absolutely awesome and increadibly reasonable.
