I used one to mix a few songs on. They are a good board although a bit vanilla for my taste. I prefer a console with some color and depth. The DDA is fairly transparent. Watch out for power-supply issues and get a parts kit together. This pretty much goes for, any older analog console.

does anyone else have an opinion? if its not worth it i dont want it. i dont want to be stuck with a 7' hunk of shT!!! my studio is small enough as is!! but they want barely a thousand for it. does anyone else think its worth it??

The DDA DMR 12 is a good mixer. It is not a hunk of junk. Like any piece of gear, it has it's good points and bad points. Is it worth buying or worth what your going to pay? Only you can answer that. It certainly is a pro desk and if it is good condition should be a whole lot better in sound quality than Mackie and should also be better than any A&H or lower end Soundcraft such as the Ghost. $1000 is still a few thousand WAY below the average price for this desk providing everything about it works well.

If you are a studio for hire, a 7' long console has quite a Wow-Factor. Don't underestimate how important this may be when your prespective clients have just seen a studio with only a daw system on top of a table.

Good board, good pres. As was pointed out a very vanilla console .. You won't be getting any Neve like warmth or punch from it but actually that was the point of the design .. I think they were made in Sweden or the Netherlands.. where the preference is for the pure path approach. It will be a decent board and with the addition of some nice outboard mic pres you should be able to achieve as good a sound as with anything else. If it all works right, I think $1000 is a great price for it ..
