I can save you the trouble Opus, haha. Xp's got a ways to go (no matter what tweaks you make) before it gets as good as 2k. They're gonna need like service pack 5 for XP before that happens. I'm curious to see the results though, keep us posted.

You are right ted...XP is not much of a performance boot at this point...
I'm doing some pretty heavy tweaks too...I'm almost there..just finished writing the registry tweaks and now going on to some of the program removal and special tweaks...
finding some serious stuff on the web..

So true, damned Gates is the bane of my existence. I can't even count how many times I've said "I'm switching to Linux!". I never do of course, cause the big G. man has it so that there's nothing available for linux, and if there is, it's like 10x more complicated just for the same thing.

How's the registry in XP? I've never really banged around in it. Is it bigger than 2k's?

I was checking your site almost daily for that a while back.... and then I added a new self built Athlon XP 1800 system with a Digi 001 AND HAD TO GO BACK TO WIN ME! :p

I suppose I could just re-install XP on my second DAW system (PIII 933 MHz) and buy a second copy of XP when Digidesign gets their act together...

In any case, thanks for all the work you do in supporting DAW users.

Yeah...I finally got off me lazy arse and did it..after perusing many forums I found a shitload of tweaks and so forth for XP! Damn there's a lot to do..
Anyhue..I'm ghosting an install of XP pre tweaks and going to go thru it again to make sure I didnt miss or do a tweak I shouldnt list!!
It'll be done tonight!!! Yeehaw!!
