Hi all,

I am thinking of buying a used Emachines laptop (an m6805, m6809 or m6811). I want to use it for multitrack recording. It has a firewire port, but according to the specs it is only 400 Mbits, while my firewire interface is 800 Mbits.

Does this make a difference to the quality of recording? And if so, does anyone know if it's possible to remove the firewire card and upgrade to a 800 Mbit card?
