Now on to Paris... as many people may know, Paris started as an Ensoniq product about 4 or 5 years ago. About a year and a half ago, Emu bought Paris, and merged into Creative Labs (separate division though - still pro audio). I'm hazy on the biz details, but no matter. Paris consists of the hardware system now developed and manufactured by Emu, and the software (Mac and PC cross-platform) developed by Intelligent Devices (ID for short). The transistion was a little rough, but Paris is thriving very well now. Fastforward... at Jan. 2001 NAMM Emu and ID announced version 3.0 of the software and Paris Pro systems (new look, new rev 3.0 software). This marks the biggest update to the Paris system in a few years, and it is a very, very promising upgrade.
