I am a bit rusty with my digital knowhow, and hit this query on another board. Thought id ask you ppl. for advice.

The gentleman in question has a Behringer DDX, Vamp pro (guitar emulater) and a DAW running SX with an m-audio firewire interface.

I would suggest him to use the DDX as a master sync source, say running at 44.1, connected to the m-audio via lightpipe. With the audio device of the DAW instructed to external sync.

The Vamp pro has a SPDIF out, and the m-audio a SPDIF in. While I would again advice to connect the vamp to the Behringer , in slave, would it be possible to connect the Vamp, via SPDIF, directly to the m-audio ?

Also, say the Vamp (hypothetically speakin) does 20bit, the Behringer 24, and the DAW audio inerface 18bits. Where does this come into play ?
