Hello everyone, I'm kinda new here and i have a doubt (i dont know if this is the right place for it, but ill give it a try)
I have a bass and an Audigy 2 ZS Platinium =), and i want to know if I can simply plug the bass directly in the front panel (LineIn2) and record or should i do something else to get better sound quality?
i dont know what to do because i couldnt find any information about how to do that with eletric instruments on the board's manual...
thank you in advance =)

It depends on the sound your looking for, and how complicated you're willing to get. Sure you could plug right in, but most likely you will have issues like what was talked about above. A DI box would clean it up, but you could do even more magic running the bass through a good amp miked by something like a Shure SM7 with a mic pre, with the mic pre connected to the soundcard - that would bring it up to a line level. Again thats could be a lot more than you need, just let us know what you're looking to do! :)

To get the sound you want, you may need to purchase a slightly better mic, like a shure SM57. Those record bass amps pretty well. You could easily use a XLR to 1/4" cable or adapter to patch the mic into your Audigy, or a mic pre first (even better) if you can get your hands on one. Hope this helps!
