Hi, I read somewhere that with most any valve mic's that the longer you leave em to warm up - the better they sound. I'm talking MUCH better!
and that 3 hours minimum was suggested even overnight if possible.
Now - I was wondering if this is true of Valve Guitar Amps too?
My marshall tsl602 suggests 3 minutes warmup time before playing..
would it benefit from 3hours plus warmup time before recording? - and if so should I leave it on, or in standby mode for this amount of time - as it gets phenomenally hot!
cheers
I don't know if the whole 'overnight' thing is accurate, but it
I don't know if the whole 'overnight' thing is accurate, but it does help to warm them up.
Tube guitar amps are probably even more affected by this. We have an old tube jcm 800 that doesn't hit the sweet spot until it's been played through for about 45 min.
