Headphone amps with audio interface capabilities? Does it exist?
Forums
I've recently moved to Mongolia and most of my gear is in Canada. I'd like to be able to do a bit of hobby recording but don't want anything too big or expensive and am wondering if there is anything on the market that has both audio interface and headphone amplifier capability in one unit. It doesn't need to be great quality as I've got good stuff in Canada I can bring next time I visit.

Fractal Audio Axe-fx = burning all my amps and pedals!
Forums
Just came back from a friend's house who needed a 2nd set of ears for recording. He had this thing in his rack, Fractal something. I said "what's that?", be barely even responds. He hands me a guitar, plugs me in and fires it up.
OH. MY GAWD.

Recording Guitar Straight in then Adding Amps vs. Recording Straight in With Pedal
Forums
I just got a Voice Tonelab ST pedal which produces some very impressive tones for the guitar, great amp modeling, it's even got a real tube in it to add to the sound. I'm doing some home demos and have been recording straight in, then adding amp effects using the program/VST Guitar Rig 3 from Native Instruments.

Headsets & Headphone Amps - Any suggestions?
Forums
Hi there
I've come up against the problem of communicating with vocalists and guitarists in the the other room. It's a real pain shouting through the 2 closed doors which separate us. I do this recording stuff from home you see.

recording guitar amps direct
Forums
my friend and I got in an argument about whether recording guitars direct is a good idea. He thinks that its better to use a mic and crank the volume on his cab than using a direct box with his amp (he thinks a lot of distortion comes from overdriving the speakers of the cab). I keep telling him that it doesn't matter, but I need some backup :)

I've just added the TUBE TECH SSA 2B summing amp to the Pro Shop. I would like to use this topic as a reference.
What are some great examples of what a summing amp does?

Virtual inst. for guitar vs real amps in final recordings?
Forums
Hello all,
I have been using NI's Guitar Rig for a while now for quick and decent sounding guitar tracks when recording song demos. Music I generally tend to create are more on the punk rock/nu-metal spectrum.
