some recording help needed please

i`m a studio player(guitar) who just recently got himself a card and some software for home
i`m using CUBASE SX.
how do i use my amp simulation plugins realtime,so i can hear and record teh simulated signal?
i go in through a preamp,but signal is mostly clean

If you are getting signal through the amp simulation plug, then just adjust the plug parmeters or pick a preset that has the sound you want. Try asking the guys in the Computer DAW forum.
