hi, i'm looking at a little front end for my DAW system to run a mic or two in and also give a little added juice to the weak outputs of my nord modular and modular G2...
i'm looking at either the Focusrite 428 or the Toft ATC2...
i'm leaning towards the focusrite.. with its 4 channels and ADC option.
the toft does have compression and EQ.. but i could just as easily do that ITB with my UAD-1...
i'm mostly interested in which of these units has a better sound.. not so much the bells and whistles...
thanks

thanks, kurt... the pres are what's most important to me.. i'll be running mostly synths into it.. and any guitar or acoustic instruments that go in get heavily processed ... so EQ isn't as important going in.. compression would be nice, but really, the pres are what i'm looking for. also, the digital expandability of the Focusrite is really perfect for my setup.
thanks again for replying..

From what I have heard, I think the ISA 428 has much better pre amps than the Toft ATC-2 does ...
The EQ and compressor on the ATC-2 is supposed to be very good ... but the pre leaves a bit to be desired.
