I don't know if this is the correct place for this. There's a U87 on ebay #7314188125. #7312468271 sold yesterday is identical. They even have the same serial number 69064.
Beware!

PS I'm not suggesting that the first auction was fraudulent, but the second one is suspicious. The bidders list is kept private so it's not possible to draw this matter to the attention of the poor sucker who coud lose a lot of money.

It seems like there might be some fake U87s out there. I once found 2 U87s that both looked brand new and with the same serial numbers. The price was something like 350 euro for the pair.
I have heard others tell of siimilar experiences. I have no idea about that being the case here or not.

I e-mailed both the original seller and the fake seller, and the listing has disappeared, but I'm sure it will be up again in a few days.

I suppose the U87 is the like the Rolex of the mic industry with a guaranteed market for fakes. I've heard that there's a huge number of fake Telefunkens out there as well, which is probably easier to do. Just get some bashed up piece of 'vintage' crap and stick a Telefunken badge on it. Most non-expert buyers won't know the difference until they send it off to be restored.
It's good to know that nobody here has been scammed in this case :D
