I am a newbie, lurked here for a month, no luck in finding out best way to add firewire to my system. Also would really appreciate specific card/wire recommendations for daw application.

I am convinced I want/need a stand alone DAW- no email/internet..this will be a dedicated music only machine. pulled an old dell 336 out of the garage for surf/email duty!
Undecided on software- no experience with any or MIDI.

Any and all help much appreciated!
Objective- write/record classic rock/projects with my 15 year old daughter who plays a pretty mean Hendrix. .(read Papa be proud!)
