Hi. I was wondering if someone used the preamp Peavey VMP2 pre for drum overheads, or for a Glyn Johns setup overheads?

Opinions are welcomed!

Thanks in advance!

Its just a stereo preamp. It has a certain sound. It will work for anything you put into it. Is it right for drums? This will depend on your room, the style of music, the drummer, your mics, your skill level at coaxing sound from things, etc etc.

I know this doesnt answer your specific question. I dont know whether you already have a VMP-2 or you're looking to buy one and want to buy it for a specific purpose like drum overheads..... If you already have one, hook it up and have at it. Tell us how it went.

VMP-2's are really underrated for some things and have a little too much character for others. I like em on guitar cabinets.
