Hi!

I am in need of a new mic to expand my little home studio.
I have a AKG C3000 (old version) and a Sennheiser 441 from the seventies plus a really cheap copy of Shure SM58.
I am looking for something to record acoustic guitars, upright piano and vocals with, something that has a warmer sound than my rather trebly C3000.
Money is of course an issue, as always, and I`d very much like to keep it all below 300$. I would buy used, too.
My preamp is a Symetrix 528 (old version).

thanks for your suggestions,
Stefan

Hello.

For what it is worth I really dig the AT 4033, especially on Acoustic Guitar recording. I usually use a SM-81 on the sound hole and an AT 4033 near the 12th fret. I would say I place them about a foot away (depending on how percussive I want the sound) and mix them accordingly or even pan them to give a wider effect.

It is definitely a good mic. I also have a Studio Projects C1 but prefer the AT for Acoustic Guitar and such.

Hope this helps a little...again it is all preference and opinion.
