Hey guys! I've got access to a Hammond B3 and Leslie speaker at my church. In the near future, I would like to do some recordings of it. Does anyone have a tried and true technique for Micing it?
Thanks in advance.

I use a pair of mics on top and one on bottom. The thing to remeber is that even though there are two conical horns spinning on top, there is only one throat that is open from the compression driver to that horn. So, if you want a tight spread, mic the front and a side, or the back and the side. If you want it wider, move both mics to the side.

Depending on the compression driver and amp that you have, it may not require anything beyond a 57, but I use KSM-32's. They look like LG dia. mics, but they are not. Neumann KM 184's work well. For the bottom, I have used a 421, or a KSM44. You could try a Beta52.
