I have used different recording software, but not to the point where I know them all really good. I've used Nuendo, cubase, and Sonar 3 prod edition, and Magix studio 6,7, and the 2004 version...
this is the question, what is the difference? other than plugins or drivers, or graphic layouts. Magix is the easiest to use for me, but I don't want to be limited to a lower name software. .I have Sonar 3 and Nuendos, but they seem a little harder to use. Can anybody tell me what difference the actual software makes in the production?

yupp, different functions and GUI's which are a matter of taste, and MASSIVE differences in soundengines, logic, dp and pt (on a MAC!) are good in my ears and NO matter of taste, also once you learnt them, you will be pretty comfortable in a hire or pro studio (in future!). who is running Fruity loops or audion or whatever, unless it's at home on your PC ?? running games and stuff as well... (which should not even be near your comp for music!!!)

I think its probably what you get used to and works for you- I've been using Digital performer for 13 years or so and am very comfortable- somethimes I think about logic but, hey, its a new learning curve, besides it cost $1000 and for that money I could get a new mic and keep my DP :D
the folks in the acoustic forum, though, swear by Sequoia and Samplitude- maybe they know something we don't but i don't think am shelling 3k to find out... 8)
