Hi,

I am no Musician, and I haven't the slightest clue how to play any instruments, but for some reason I feel as if I need to try it out.
For as long as I can remember, Music has been flowing through my body. Some days I wake up and I just have these crazy tunes flowing through my head, tunes I have never heard before. It drives me nuts because I begin humming whatever tune I somehow created in my head, and then adding Instruments behind the Tune (in my head) and to me it sounds pretty damn good.

I need some way to get this Music I create in my Head, out in the open. I want it to sound as good as it sounds in my Head. Again, I am no Musician, I can't write Music but I figure I need to start learning how to play this Music and possibly figure out a way to play a Keyboard and mix it with drums/guitar/base etc.. I also need to add voice to it, so I figure that voice will be mine :).

Any help would be appreciated as to what I should purchase to get this started. Its bugging the heck out of me and I just need to make something out of it!

Keyboard/Mic/Soundcard etc. Please show me the way!

Thanks alot!

Tall order! But it sounds like you have something inside of you that if you do not let out you may explode. I am in no way a musician, just an audio engineer, but my suggestion would be to first start with an instrument; a keyboard would probably be the way to go. Try just sitting down with it and playing. Different people learn an process information in all sorts of different ways, but it sounds like you have a very creative mind and I would not recommend bogging it down with a bunch of music theory and technical BS, at leas at first. Some of the best musicians I have met have absolutely no idea what they are doing, they just picked up their instrument one day and began playing. Try just sitting at a keyboard and start pressing the keys and see what comes out. If, after a while, you are just getting frustrated, find someone to give you some music lessons. With a decent keyboard you can write all the parts of the songs in your head short of vocals. When you really begin to flow with that, start thinking about diving into recording. But, I truly believe that you could squash your creativity by jumping head first into the technical side of it. Again, I am no musician, and maybe some might have a different opinion, but an engineer recommending NOT to get into the recording side of it right away should say something.

Good luck,
Jon
