Hi Gang, I'm tracking on a Mackie SDR 2496 and then transferrring files to DAW for mixing. the SDR doesn't offer any sort of rendering, so when I get tracks imported to Sonar, punches show up as seperate takes of the original track, and assigned their own track in Sonar. SDR uses broadcast wave format, which is timestamped. I've been told it's possible to drag & drop punch in clips onto the original track in proper time alignment by holding the shift key and doing the drag & drop. I suspect a minor detail got left out of the description by the source who told me, 'cause it ain't working! I'm at the front end of loading my first tune in to mix, so the learning curve is young. Any help appreciated, thanks. PS, No clues in the Sonar manual, I've spent hours looking.

David, Yes, both mono since it's a punch-in I'm trying to assemble to the master track(s). I'll try your method in the next day or so, been busy all day backing up files to DVD and such drudgery as that. My brain is mush. I'll let you know if it worked. BTW, I still have to send you a clip of the 1903 Knabe 6' I have on loan here. I've been waiting to buy another AT 4050 to do a clip of quality . Turns out the friend who owns the piano has a 4050 as well, so I'll have to get on that. Thanks.
