A client will bring in a session recorded on a Mackie HD recorder and we would like to edit and mix the stuff on my PT|HD rig running on a Mac G4 OS X. (all the tracks have been 'consolidated'.)
My plan is to just take the drive out of the SCSII enclosure and connect it to my Mac or insert it into a Firewire enclosure.
What do you guys think? Will I need special software to access the files? Jumper settings?

If it is SCSI and you have a new Mac (Blue & White G3 and later)
If it is SCSI and you have a new Mac (Blue & White G3 and later) you will need a SCSI card to connect the drive. It will not work in a firewire box if it is SCSI.
If you have a G4 of any sort and are running OS9-OSX 10.2.8, an Adaptec 2906 card should do the job. If you are looking to beef up your Mac's SCSI capabilities, the PowerDomain 39160 is a fine dual-channel Ultra160 card.

What's the file system on the mackie? I don't know, but I'm assuming that it uses a windows file system (NTFS or Fat32) as opposed to a propietary one?
OS X and 9 can read FAT32 drives.
Panther (OS X 10.3) can read NTFS, although some have reported issues.
