Try Lynx

I was all set to recommend Lynx, which is as stellar as it gets, until I saw the firewire need.

Why the firewire? Already have firewire stuff?

there is a m-audio one with 2 i/o's. but why firewire?? why dont u get something like the m-audio audiophile 2496 pci one. its better in sound quality and latency.

for a cheaper solution try the focusrite sapphire-its brand new

I agree that PCI sound cards would be a better route to go...
Also remember that RME and MOTU may use a firewire cable but it's only a host to their format and not truly "firewire" so to speak...

Lynx are great sounding converters and are a little pricey..

M-Audio is a cheap alternative with ok quality.
