Hello everyone,
I am wondering if there exists a DAW or other software that includes allows the user to alter the TEMPO ENVELOPE of a clip of audio and/or midi in a flexible, freeform manner (in the same way many programs allow the user to alter the VOLUME ENVELOPE - pulling a pushing a line representing the dynamic level, giving the dynamics a freeform shape)?

Hope that made sense.

Cubase does it (tempo track) and I would imagine that most other audio recording/sequencing programs do it.
The thing is, when you change the tempo of an audio clip, by stretching or compressing, you are altering the audio and the result isn't really that good...depending on the amount of change.

If you are using loops like REX files, then they can be alterted without any loss of audio quality.

MIDI isn't a problem since it's only data.
