Since I read about the Mackie buyout, I've
had many questions about the alliance's future. I read the thread addressing the matter on the SS forum, but nobody asked what seems to me to be the logical questions.
Will Soundscape remain 'Soundscape', or
will it now be 'Mackie'? Will the Soundscape line still remain intact just as if they'd
gone-on without the buyout? Will the same people remain 'in charge' of SS, or will Mackie's higherarchy take charge? Will the same personell continue to design the SS gear, or will there now be Mackie engineers
envolved? Will SS continue to have the same
unrivalled customer service? Will SS continue
to supply all updates free of charge? Will
SS continue to have complete reverse-support
for its' products? Is there a possibility
that Mackie just bought-out the competition,
and could completely drop the whole SS line?
Each and every one of these questions is logical and very important. I would appreciate if you would please answer all of these questions to give us a more clear
picture of SS' future. Please help to put the minds of users and possible future users
at ease...

SonOfSmawg!
I would really like to know these things as well.
If you don't mind I'll forward the questions to the Soundscape forum?
Or maybe you've already e-mailed this to Chris or Joel?

I think it could be a very positive thing. Mackie and Emagic also working together...
The marketing machine of Mackie, etc.

Regards,
Fredrik.

Joel,
Thank you for that clear, concise answer.
Just kidding, welcome back , Buddy! I assume
answers are yet to come, but that we'll like
what you'll have to report. We'll be waiting
(im)patiently!

Fredrik,
My agreement with Chris Wright is that I
will not post on the SS forum. They've been
gracious enough to allow me access, and I
would never think about not keeping my word.
I have great respect for Chris.
If you do copy my post there, I would just like to make it clear that you will be doing that of your own free will, and that it is your right to do so, as RO is a public
forum. I don't have a problem with you doing-so, but I am not asking you to do it.
Please forgive me if this sounds odd, but
understand that I wouldn't do anything to spoil my business relationship with Chris, or anyone at SS. I place a very high value
on their help, friendship, and integrity.
This is much more than I can say for any other company out there. All the more reason
that I hope things work out well in their new
business alliance...

YO...JOEL !!! There's still nothing on the SS, Mackie, or RO forums regarding Soundscape's future. I've been trying to find any info as to what may be going-on, but none is available. There was one specific official statement that was made that concerns me. Here it is...
*****
"But most importantly, we're bringing new, exciting, and immensely talented people into the Mackie environment. Yes, we're purchasing a company - but it's the employees of SYDEC that mean more to us than the existing technology. People are the potential, not the hardware or software."
*****
Hmmm...well, the SS site is still up (for the time being?). There are a lot of SS product owners and possible buyers who are on-edge as to what the future is going to hold with this situation. SS has always had top-notch customer service, and it makes me uncomfortable that they've not kept us up to date, or made any statement that clearly tells us where this is going. Who in their right mind would buy a SS product today?
The above statement clearly implies that SS
products are history!
Joel...please reply...

I believe that all TC is saying is that they're focusing on their own hardware! Here's the quote "At the moment we do focus on the TC PowerCore interfaces and the application Spark ..."? It only makes good business sense to focus on their own products(and they can always change their plans. . .)
Stay tuned!
