What program can I use to mix music.
I want to separate vocals and the rhythm from a music CD

Yes, you're not going to find anything that will work well for your purposes. The only thing along these lines that can be done is vocal cutting, which is designed to remove anything that is panned dead center. Do do a real remix, you will need the multitrack masters.

Personally, I don't think you'll find anything that'll trully "separate" vocals or anything for that matter from mastered tracks. The best technique that I know of is the elimination/cancellation of certain frequencies. But if there is such a program, please let us know.
