Watching that neck come off was a "what kind of voodoo is this?" moment for me. Pretty cool. my acoustics and classicals have been getting workouts since you focused the light on Taylors (thanks for letting me participate). I keep trying to engineer excuses to slip off to L&M to do some secret playing (my office is about 8 blocks away).

Right on. I'm so glad to hear this.

I've been learning so much about acoustic guitars since this journey began. At present, I have been on the fence for almost a month now, debating to move on to a 914ce, but not for any bling. My search continues for any performance or tone improvements to this 714ce.

Back to humidifying... wow... I can't believe the performance impact humidity optimization has on an acoustic. I am still getting significant neck improvements as my 714ce humidity balances throughout the wood.

I've realized one Oasis humidifier is not enough to get the acoustic up to factory spec. I'm not saying others should take my lead on everything I am doing here because humidity is most definitely unique to your climate. I am 5 hours from sea level water so its taking a lot longer to get my axe wood completely seasoned from neck to body. As the wood acclimatizes, the neck has been off on on. I have 6 days left to return this, upgrade or keep it so I am full on surgical scrutiny now.

The natural tone of the 714ce inspires me much like having an electric in my hand all the time. Although it sounds glorious when picking or fanning closer to the neck to get that mellow support tone, the general vibe I get over and over is not a laid back boxy acoustic campfire sound at all. Its a serious rocking, get up and party acoustic guitar. I just love it.

After almost a month testing now, (the newly re designed 2016 Taylor 714ce) has been the most inspiring acoustic guitar I have ever played. The mid focus tone of the 700 series inspires an up front, in control confidence that is ideal for the lead or solo guitarist. I am certain this guitar is going to be a thrill for recording.
