Disclaimer: my friend gave me them for free!

I have the Behringer Truth B2031A powered-monitor.
I use it to mix recordings my friends and I make in my home project studio.
I don't feel that I overuse or misuse it, but apparently I am.

The right monitor stops working after about 5 minutes of use. I shut off the power switch, and then turn it back on and it works again.

Any suggestions of what I could be doing to cause this, or how to fix it?

Thanks!

I looked on their website, and they had the manual and the spec sheet, but no schematic.

I did find that when it gets overloaded, the (thermal capacitor?) shuts it off until it cools.

The wire I am using to power it looks like the standard kind of wire that you would use for this as well as to power a computer or something. I guess could I switch them to see if it is the wire.

The signal is going from the computer, to a Seasound Soloist, to a Behringer Xenix1832FX Mixer, to the monitors(sorry, also borrowed). None of the knobs are maxed, the mixer's LEDs aren't close to being maxed.

Perplexed.... but thank you for the help Link!

Hey, that's a good idea. Maybe I will only try it on the wonky one. I wonder if that will cause damage in the long term however. The SRF sounds better than what I said. I still don't why it would start doing this all of a sudden when I have been using the same gain structure for awhile now. Stupid Behringer.
