Hello, I have just got into making music and bought a few things to get started.

Interface - Behringer Xenyx 302 Usb
Midi keyboard - M-Audio KeyRig 49
DAW- Cubase Elements 8 LE AI and Magix Music Maker Premium.

I am having a hard time connecting it all together and getting it all to work. I am not the best at the computer end of things. I would also like to know how to connect my electric drum kit Yamaha usb and acoustic electric guitar to the interface. I am using windows 10.

Any pointers would be great! Thank you in advance!

Welcome to RO, JTR8500 !!

I just want to start by saying, the Xenyx 302 isn't what I would call an audio interface.. It's a cheap mixer on which they added a usb port. You would have been far more served with let's say a Focusrite Scarlett Solo, even older generations. I'm saying that because via usb, those small mixers are limited, usually you can't record the inputs directly just the mains.. It makes overdubs harder to do..

Connecting is kinda easy, like everything Usb on windows, install the drivers and software first and connect the unit when it ask or when the installation is done.
In your DAW (Cubase), you need to go to the audio settings to select the 302 as input and output, nothing else, then go into midi and select the keyrig and the Yamaha drum controler.
Once done, create a new track and specify what will be going in, midi or audio and select the input accordingly.
There is a ton of Cubase tuto online, it takes a bit of time but I'm sure you'll get it fast..

Hope it helps, please come back to tell ! ;)

The Xenyx 302USB does not have an input suitable for a guitar pickup, despite its promotional material showing pictures of people with guitars.

I would take it back and upgrade to a better interface such as the Scarlett Solo that pcrecord mentioned. An alternative would be to plug your guitar into a DI box that connects into the microphone socket on the 302USB, but that may be just throwing good money after bad. You didn't mention this as a requirement in your post, but going via a DI box would mean that you could not use a vocal or instrument microphone at the same time as recording the guitar pickup.

Thank you for your reply! I will do what you have suggested when I get home tonight. Its unfortunate that the 302 isn't what I am looking for. I purchased it on amazon a few months back. Hopefully they'll let me return it! Thanks again for your response! All the best!

Boswell: thanks for the suggestion. I am going to try and return the mixer. I totally thought it was an interface as well as mixer. I am going to grab the one you and pcrecord suggest! Thanks for taking the time to reply. Have a great day!

I was just on Facebook Marketplace and someone has a Steinberg CI 1 audio interface for $40 CND. Is that worth it? Is the interface right for what I need? Thank you!

The C1 seems to be fonctionnal but I suspect lower quality compared to the Focusrite.
The C1 maximum resolution is to 24-bit/48kHz and the Focusrite 24-bit/192kHz
I suspect the noise floor will be better as well and better drivers

Check the Gen2 there is some rebates since they put out the gen3..

Nonetheless, if the C1 is all you can afford, better go with it than do nothing ;)

Ill definitely check out the Focusrite when i outgrow my cheapo though. Thanks again for the advice! Take care!
