I've seen several people on here mention that they've bought from Newegg. I've made several purchases from them myself, with never a problem. They have very low prices, usually right there with the lowest prices on Pricewatch, but they don't charge the inflated shipping charges that most of the others do.
Well, last week I bought a mobo, CPU, and heatsink/fan from them. After days of trying and lots of help from my fellow RO-ites, we could only conclude that I got a DOA.
I filled out the Newegg online RMA request form, and it said that there would be a 2 day wait for a "yay or nay" on my request. I checked my email a few hours later and *BANG* there it was ... my RMA approval! They didn't mention in their email about the fact that I wanted a different mobo, so I gave them a call.
They will ship me a replacement CPU when they receive my return, and refund the $52 that I paid for the mobo. Then I just order the other mobo. Plus, I should mention that "Dennis" was very friendly, helpful, and accomodating.
So, I end up paying a little shipping, but I think it's pretty fair. No complaints.

I would like to add a thumbs up to newegg.com. I ordered all of my new computer parts, with the exception of the mobo from them (not in stock). Great service and very fast. I actually put my credit card in wrong when I made the order and they made several attempts to contact me to resolve the issue, great communication and very professional. They must have a huge customer service staff. I wish I had purchased the mobo from newegg. The company I used (who shall remain nameless), didn't designate the features very well on their website, and I ended up getting audio included, and I didn't want it. I'll call newegg next time.

Keep up the good work newegg! :D

thanks,

I have only one complaint regarding newegg - they don't allow walk in traffic / in store pickups. Since I live within 20 minutes of them, it would be nice to pay on line (or in the store) and just drive over to pick up whatever I needed instead of having to pay for / wait on shipping.

Other than that, I've been very satisfied with them and have heard almost exclusively "good things" about them - except for one purchaser of a 20 GB IBM 2.5" HDD for their AW4416 who apparently got a pre-opened / formatted drive by mistake - and they took good care of him.

I too, have bought quite a bit of stuff from newegg and have always had a pleasant shopping experience with them. Another vendor I've had good luck with thus far is googlegear, I just bought my new P4T-E, 1.6a P4, memory and ATI radeon 7500 card from them and beat newegg by about $10 on the total deal including shipping. Everything was shipped the same day (UPS delayed the delivery over the weekend, was scheduled to be delivered last Friday but didn't arrive until Monday, UPS's fault not googlegear's). The packing job was carefully and meticulously well done, one of the best I've seen in a while and I got a "Malaysia" P4 chip :) :) :)
